PivotXP wrote custom live polling software for two touchscreen kiosks at INIT's booth at APTA TRANSform Conference & EXPO 2026 in Chicago. Attendees met three Chicago nonprofits and voted on how INIT's community gift would be shared. The kiosks ran on their own with no PivotXP crew on site, kept working offline, and synced all 117 votes to the cloud within a second of each tap.

INIT
The Ask: Let Attendees Decide Where the Gift Goes
INIT wanted a simple, engaging way for APTA attendees to take part in its giving: learn about three Chicago community organizations and vote for one, with the result shared at a charity reveal on the final day.
The software had to be custom to INIT, easy enough to use without anyone explaining it, and reliable without a technician standing next to it.

What We Built: Voting Kiosks That Run Themselves
Two touchscreen kiosks running our own voting app. An attendee taps to begin, meets the three organizations, opens any of them to see what it does and why it matters, then votes and confirms. A thank-you screen shows the live community results, and a final screen offers QR codes for anyone who wants to give to an organization directly.
The kiosks run as appliances: they power on straight into the app, keep working if the venue network drops, and sync every vote to a cloud database the moment they can, so nothing is lost. The screens were built from INIT's own artwork for the 1080×1920 portrait displays. We shipped the kiosks configured and tested, and the INIT team ran them on their own.

FAQ
Questions about this build
Who built INIT's voting kiosks at APTA TRANSform 2026?
PivotXP wrote the custom live polling software and shipped two touchscreen kiosks to INIT's booth at APTA TRANSform Conference & EXPO 2026 in Chicago. Attendees cast 117 votes across three Chicago nonprofits over two expo days, deciding how INIT's community gift would be shared.
Can trade show kiosks run without a technician on site?
Yes. INIT's kiosks ran as appliances: they powered on straight into the voting app, kept working if the venue network dropped, and synced every vote to the cloud as soon as they could. PivotXP shipped them configured and tested, the INIT team ran them on their own, and 100% of votes reached the cloud within a second of each tap.
What did attendees see on the INIT voting kiosk?
An attract screen, then the three organizations, a detail page for each one, the ballot and a confirmation. After voting, a thank-you screen showed live community results, and a final screen offered QR codes to give to an organization directly. The screens were built from INIT's own artwork for portrait 1080×1920 displays.
