PivotXP partnered with 160over90 and the USGA to promote the U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Open Championships with the Cross Country Scramble: a golf-simulator game where every swing at simulator venues nationwide moved a shared journey across a map of America, region by region, from one coast to the other. More than 20,000 swings were required to complete the trip.

Every Swing Moves the Country
Players at simulator venues nationwide teed up and swung, with each shot distance entered on a tablet and added to a shared journey across a map of America.
A live on-screen readout showed the player's name, shot number, and yardage, alongside the map with both championship sites pinned on opposite coasts.
The journey carried over from venue to venue, so every location picked up where the last one left off.

Regional Backdrops Along the Route
Each region of the country had its own distinct background elements, so the simulator scene changed as the journey crossed from one part of the map to the next.
The effect was a sense of place at every stop: players could tell where the country had traveled to just by looking at the screen behind the ball.
The backgrounds were designed by PivotXP to sit behind the USGA and U.S. Open branding without competing with the shot readout.
